Long Awaited Announcement

Holy heck! I haven't posted on here since November 26th? Well, let's just say I've been a bit busy.

This little munchkin was born on December 2, 2012.

I was induced around 5am that morning since he was almost a week late. A midwife broke my water around 7:30am. I sat around, walked around and finally decided it was time for an epidural right around the start of the Bears game. (When I finally dropped a few F-bombs from the contractions.)

Then, I took a nap. (Yes, I did!)

About 4:30pm, my doctor came in and said it was time to start pushing. With the delivery nurse, med student, my doc and my hubs in the room, I told them to get the show on the road because I was going to push this kid out in 10 minutes. I think they laughed at me. Or told me I was ambitious. Something like that. Not quite sure. I was pretty drugged up.

We chatted about the Bears. My doc told me how her friends from med school were coming in for a girls weekend soon. The med student danced around and counted when I pushed. This kid was so bored. Apparently he can't really do anything during regular deliveries. As he told my hubs, on a good day he gets to deliver the placenta. (Um, lucky guy?!?)

Close to two and a half hours later, Baby Boy slid out. (Dudes, I know I am totally inappropriate, but seriously, I felt like he just came flying out.) No one could believe how long he was! My doc said she never would have guessed it based on how I was carrying him. The hubs said Baby Boy was peeing and pooping too. (That's my boy!) He was put on my chest and we had our mommy-baby bonding moment before they took him to to side to run all of his tests.

It was glorious. It was exhausting. But we were so happy to welcome Conor Patrick to the world! Almost nine weeks later I'm finally writing about this. Yikes! But that's because I've been enjoying him so much each and every day. You know, when he's not screaming! I can't complain though. He started sleeping through the night about a week or so ago. I'm talking 11pm to anywhere between 6am and 8am. I feel like a new person! He's my joy. And he's cute as can be. I think we'll keep him!

You know what is SO weird. We traded due dates! I was due 12/2 and had Hadley on 11/26. He's precious. Hadley is pretty good about sleeping once she goes down but man getting her to bed is a LOT of work.
