Babycakes turned 9 months old yesterday! How is that even possible? He continues to amaze me every. single. day.
He's crawling like a madman. He particularly likes to make a beeline for his bedroom door when he hears me run the bath water. While the tub is one of his happy places, I think he's starting to associate the running water as the start of his bedtime routine. Isn't it too early for that? Oy!
He's also pulling himself up on EVERYTHING. His crib. His parents. The pupster. It doesn't matter.
I can't keep up with his growth. Okay well, maybe that's not true. I should say I can't keep up with his closet. Every other weekend seems like out with the old and in with the new. We spent some time out the outlet mall in Michigan City, IN over the weekend while visiting family. Daddy was at the ND game, so mama and Babycakes went shopping with Omi (grams in German) and my sister. Let's just say this kid got a new fall/winter wardrobe. Holy moly! 18-month sized clothes look HUGE! But I remember saying that about 6 month sleepers not that long ago. Sigh.
Babycakes is a hugger. There is no greater feeling in the world when your child reaches for you, wraps his arms around your neck and nuzzles his head on your shoulder. I savor those moments so much!
I love this little boy more than words could ever express. He lights up our lives. When I hold him after I feed him before bed and he falls asleep in my arms (yeah, don't tell our pediatrician I still do that sometimes!), he looks so peaceful, content and secure. I see glimpses of the boy he will become. And I sit in the rocker, maybe longer than I should, so I can stare at him and hope and dream about his future.
